Tokens

You probably heard about cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and Ethereum, but did you know that you can deploy your own token which will work similarly like cryptocurrency?
You can easily send and receive your tokens with the mobile wallet like Coinomi. You can also put your tokens on the exchange and let world evaluate it.
If you are an influencer for example, you can deploy your personal token and use it like your own currency.
Polish Bitcoin influencer Szczepan Bentyn deployed 21 000 000 his own tokens named Token of Szczepan Bentyn(BEN) and distributed over 3 500 000 of his tokens among family, friends, fans and market.
Read more about the use of personal tokens in his post: bitcointalk: Personal Tokens - why I issued my own personal token.

Initial Coin Offering (ICO)

An initial coin offering (ICO) is a type of funding using cryptocurrencies. Companies and startups can distribute their coins trough ICO and get the funds required for their project.
Contributors receive tokens which can grow in value after the success of a funded project or lose after its failure.

Airdrops

Another popular way of token distribution are airdrops where tokens are distributed for free or for example after sharing someone's content.
On EOS blockchain for example, some airdrops are for all EOS holders.

How to deploy personal token

The hard way - require basic IT knowledge, you can find many step-by-step tutorials like this one: How to issue your own token on Ethereum in less than 20 minutes
but it's complicated and for some not technical people, may looks impossible. Fortunately there is easy way to deploy your own personal token.

The easy way - there are some user-friendly websites like https://www.personaltokens.io/ where you can deploy your personal token with just a few clicks. All you need is Metamask wallet and some Ethereum on it.

Blockchain

The most popular blockchains where you can deploy token are:

  • Ethereum
  • Waves
  • EOS

I deployed my two tokens on Ethereum blockchain, but with the paid transaction I have to pay a small fee every time I send my tokens to someone. that's why I'm going to deploy my token on EOS blockchain where the transactions are free.
